Last night, We had a wonderful meeting. We had an interesting theme "Good habits result from resisting temptation" and word of the day was "temptation". We also had three speakers: Jerry, Aan, and Rahma and guest which were very enjoyable and exciting.
The meeting was opened by AAN, our president and as Toastmaster of the Meeting (ToM). I,myself as General Evaluator (GE). Initially, I am not confidence but "Go for It". Yuup, I took the role, it is time to practice my skill, isn’t it?
Table topic session led by Pak Rinaldi, "the Joker Man" . He explained about to be better listener, better thinker, and better speaker. Then, he asked volunteer to share their experience or idea regarding resisting temptation.
The first speaker was Mirna which told us about her effort to find job to enhance her career and she realized that there’s a lot of opportunity even there’s a lot of temptation. The second speaker was Mukti, our guest from CKB. He told us about his career at MC Donald and then move to CKB. It’s a good story and He won as the best speaker in this session. CONGRATULATION MUKTI……..Please come again to our next meeting and be best speaker again. The third speaker was Santi, our guest from AUSaid. She told us about her experience to finish her thesis, and the fourth speaker was Pak Arief told us about his friend’s birthday.
In prepared speeches session, Jerry who was the first speaker opened his speech by asking us to guess where he came from. Most of us said he’s from maluku (Ambon). Waooow…..it was suprising….he came from Java, he is Javanese. There are two things that people always misunderstanding about him. First, people always guess that he is from ambon since his black skin and cool (uuuuppps it’s Pak Rinaldi’ s word). Second, about his age. People tended to look him younger than his age (btw, how old are you…Mr. Hen?). He was very powerful and structural speech said Pak Arief as evaluator. Good Job Jerry…..you deserved to get best speaker in this session.
The next speaker was Aan who told us about his experience while Umroh in Arab Saudi. In chronologically, he talked about his long trip, which made him boring, visiting mosque in Medina and Makah, and his feeling while using IHRAM cloth. He also told us the umrah process. The general purpose was clear and sequences said Pak Rinaldi as evaluator. Aan need to more elaborate about his best life and keep remain about intro, body and conclusion. Good effort Aan…. We wait for your next speech.
"It’s my life" was Rahma’s speech title. She talked about her experience and her feeling by moving to other province, getting student’s enrollment at IPB and her current job. She really enjoyed the presentation and learnt about her from the icebreaker said Pak Arief as Rahma’s evaluator. Rahma need to improve her topic to give some massages to audience. Keep trying…..Sis…. nothing is useless unless we never try.
Before we closed our meeting, Pak Rinaldi announce 2 announcement.
1. Gathering in our district since Bu Min, division governor will be replaced by Pak Wardiman. The time?????…..sorry…I forgot to write down it….anyone have complete information regarding this…???? Please share to other…thx.
